Dr Michael Zaninovich graduated from the University of Adelaide in 2004 being awarded both the Dental School Dean's Award for outstanding performance in the Bachelor of Dental Surgery and the Endodontics Prize in his final clinical year. He subsequently moved to Perth to be with his family in 2005 and worked for five years in general private practice. During this time he developed a particular interest in dental implants, oral surgery and full mouth rehabilitation..
He completed the Primary examinations in 2005 and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in 2007. Wanting to further improve his skills and knowledge, he undertook a three-year full time specialist training programme in Prosthodontics at The University of Adelaide in 2010.
At the Academy of Australian and New Zealand Prosthodontists (AANZP) Biennial Conference in 2012 in Cairns, he was awarded the best presentation for his research into the rate of wear of ceramic restorations opposing tooth structure and restorative materials.
In 2015 Dr Zaninovich was accepted as a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), and in 2016 he was awarded Diplomate status.
At the 2016 International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) Autumn Meeting in Singapore, he received First Prize for his presentation on "2 Hours Rapid Full Arch Immediate Loading Technique."
Dr Zaninovich is an active member of the Australian Prosthodontic Society, lecturing locally and interstate on reconstructive prosthodontic therapy and implantology.
He continues to actively pursue professional development courses around the world to keep up to date with current advancements in oral implantology and to maintain a high level of clinical skills and knowledge.
